Mirror of Dharma
Lamrim Winter Retreat
on the ‘Stages of the Path to Enlightenment’
The lamrim winter retreat on the ‘tages of the path to Enlightenment’ is held every winter in January at Avalokiteshvara Kadampa Buddhist Centre. The Kadam lamrim is a special condensation of all of Buddha’s teachings. Arranged in the sequence in which they are to be realized, these meditations guide practitioners along the path by developing their inner peace, compassion and wisdom. These meditations will be taught in conjunction with Je Tsongkhapa’s teaching, ‘The Three Principle Aspect of the Path’ as presented in Venerable Geshe Kelsang’s latest book, The Mirror of Dharma with Additions.
By developing an understanding and familiarity with these meditations, we will enjoy a special experience of peace and fulfillment that comes from a spiritually meaningful life. Ultimately Lamrim meditations will give rise to a complete transformation of our mind through the power of wisdom and compassion.
The retreat will start with an Introduction to Retreat on Friday with teachings and meditations on faith and reliance based on the teachings from the NKT Fall Festival in Arizona. However it is not necessary to attend the introduction to attend the retreat. Each session will consist of a teaching, time for individual reading and contemplation and a guided meditation and question and answer. Day by day we will progress through the stages of the path from realizing our precious human life to the developing the wisdom of superior seeing. Everyone welcome, regardless of background or experience.
Come to one session, or come to them all. No registration necessary.
