Online Day Course: A Guide to Death and Dying
April 18 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm| Free – $30
We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with this fact. Buddha gave extensive teachings on the death process. Understanding the death process gives us an opportunity to live a more meaningful life and end of life, and to help those who are dying.
In this day course, Kelsang Kunden, will guide us to a practical understanding of the Buddhist explanation of the death process, how we can prepare for our death and how we can help those who are dying. We will also be introduced to the practice of Powa (or transference of consciousness) practice where we can transfer our own, or others’ consciousness to a Pure Land rebirth. This is one of the kindest things we can do for ourself and for others.
This course will be based on the book Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully and will include time to engage in Powa practice.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or previous experience. The class will consist of teachings and meditation sessions with breaks in-between.
