Amitayus Prayers Feb 26
February 26 @ 9:00 am - 9:50 am
Amitayus is the Buddha of Long Life, Wisdom and Merit. There is nothing more precious than our life. Because we have a precious human life we have the opportunity to experience both temporary and ultimate happiness. Je Tsongkhapa said that for those who wish to experience pure happiness, the greatest obstacles fo the fulfilment of their wishes are death and ignorance. Death destroys our opportunity to take the essence of our precious human life, and ignorance destroys our opportunity to develop a pure experience of Dharma. To overcome these obstacles we need to increase our lifespan and our wisdom, and the principal method for doing this is the practice (or yoga) of Buddha Amitayus. This yoga is also a special method for increasing merit.

By engaging in Amitayus prayers we can increase our life span and good fortune.
We practice the Amitayus sadhana, the Yoga of Buddha Amitayus on a weekend each February and from time to time at the Centre. In 2023 we will practice these prayers on Sunday mornings in February. Join us on Sunday mornings in February for chanted prayers to Buddha Amitayus. There is no need to register and no charge. Just come along!
This practice includes prayers and mantra recitation is open to all who wish to attend. 50 minutes.
