Open to everyone, the Canadian National Festival online is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a spiritual break with like-minded people from around Canada. During this special Festival, Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, will begin by granting the empowerment of Buddha Amitayus, the Buddha of Long Life, Wisdom and Merit and giving teachings on the practice of loving kindness.
Everyone, whether religious or non-religious, is looking for happiness all the time and wants to be free from suffering and problems permanently. We can fulfill these wishes through understanding and practising the instructions given during this Festival.
Although our mind is like a cloudy sky, in essence clear and pure but overcast by the clouds of our delusions, just as the thickest clouds eventually disperse, so too even the heaviest delusions can be removed from our mind. They are not an intrinsic part of our mind.
Through understanding and practising these profound, compassionate teachings, we can experience temporary freedom from daily problems and finally, the supreme happiness of full enlightenment. Everybody welcome!
The Festival will begin with Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab giving an introductory teaching on the Friday evening. The next day, Gen Kelsang Chogyan will guide the morning meditation to prepare our mind for the empowerment ceremony. We will then have the good fortune to receive the blessing empowerment of Buddha Amitayus, the Buddha of Long Life, Good Fortune and Wisdom and commentaries by Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab. Gen Kelsang Chogyan will also guide the Sunday morning meditation on the practice of Buddha Amitayus. There will then be a seven sessions retreat with Gen Kelsang Suma to familiarize ourself further with this beautiful practice.
