Thursday evenings
7pm – 8:30pm
@ Glen Williams Town Hall
with Gen Kelsang Kunden

Each class consists of guided meditations and teachings that we can contemplate and practice throughout the week. Each contemplation has a practical application to solve our daily problems. Through attending classes and putting effort into applying these teachings to our daily lives, we can make great progress increasing our own inner peace. Through engaging in meditation practice we can develop and maintain a peaceful mind all the time. If we have a peaceful mind all the time we will be happy all the time, regardless of whether our conditions are good or bad. Now is the time to train in inner peace and happiness by putting Buddha’s teachings into practice.

What to Expect in a Class

Our meditation classes are for anyone interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of background or beliefs. Classes are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings, and practice.
Every class includes a chance to practise meditation. No prior experience, special equipment or special clothes are necessary for our onsite classes – just come as you are, and bring your mask.

Classes are all standalone individual classes that are presented in a series. You do not need to attend the full series to attend a class.

What to expect in a course
Letting go of negativity
We have a lot of negativity directed inward towards ourselves, outwards towards other living beings and even inanimate objects. This negativity arises largely through the power of our familiarity with it. Unfortunately, as we hold onto grudges and painful feelings, we allow that negativity to accumulate within our mind. Buddha taught many purification practices to let go of this negativity in our mind. By consciously working on letting go of our negativity, we clean the negativity from our mind which allows ourselves to change, to grow, to become the best version of ourself. Some topics we will explore in this series:1. Purifying the Past
2. Letting go of Resentment
3. Allowing Inner Change

Each class is a stand-alone class that is part of a series of classes. You do not need to attend the full series to benefit from these classes. These classes are based on the books The Mirror of Dharma with Additions and The New Eight Steps to Happiness. Come and along and learn how to make your life deeply meaningful.

opening our wisdom eyes

Emptiness is the word used by Buddha to describe the ultimate nature of reality. The way things exist. Our painful feelings, our problems, difficulties arises due to our grasping at the world around us. When, through studying Buddha’s teachings and understand that reality is not fixed and solid, but dream-like, we gain anexperience of freedom from limitation that allows us to let go of our painful ways of relating to ourselves and the world. It is a source of joy, creativity and healing that we can all tap into at any time. Through meditating on emptiness we can quickly become the person we wish to be, and we open ourselves to our potential for complete liberation and enlightenment.
