Liberation from Sorrow
a half day meditation retreat
online & onsite
Saturday 8 May
Live-streamed (available online until May 12)
Join us this Saturday morning in May and learn how to engage in Tara practice. Tara is an enlightened deity, a female Buddha, who is the manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas. By relying upon Tara with strong faith she will protect us from all obstacles and fulfil all our wishes.
When we are young we turn to our world mother for help. She protects us from immediate dangers, provides us with all our temporal needs, and guides and encourages us in our learning and personal development. In the same way, during our spiritual growth, we need to turn to our Holy Mother, Tara, for refuge. She protects us from all internal and external dangers, she provides us with all the necessary conditions for our spiritual training, and she guides us and inspires us with her blessings as we progress along the spiritual path.
In this Saturday morning in May, on the day of the month dedicated to Arya Tara, our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Kunden, will give a teaching on the qualities of Tara and how we can rely on her in the first session. The second session after the break, we will engage in Liberation from Sorrow prayers include praises to the twenty-one manifestations of Tara. Because these are Sutra, the actual words of Buddha, they are particularly powerful and blessed. This Tara practice also includes mantra recitation.
There will be time for question and answers at the end of the session. Join us for Liberation from Sorrow prayers to Arya Tara.
