with guided meditation and teachings on How to Solve our Human Problems

Mid-day lunchtime is time to take a break and what better way to relax that to engage in some meditation? Join us for effective and powerful breathing meditation and meaningful contemplations that will reduce anxiety, worry and inner tension. Through familiarity with meditation practice we will naturally experience a balanced and peaceful mind that will benefit us in our all our daily activities.

Each class consists of a 15-minute guided meditation and a short teaching. This winter’s teachings are based on the book How to Solve Our Human Problems, Buddhist practices to overcome painful feelings with positive and peaceful minds. Through putting these teachings into practice we can enjoy the immense benefits of the powerful practice of patience.

The classes are all drop-in, there is no need to register. Each class is an individual stand-alone class, but it is not necessary to attend all the classes to receive the benefits of the meditations and teachings. Just come along and enjoy simple and relaxing guided meditations and meaningful contemplation to bring stillness to the overloaded mind. Step back from ‘busyness’ and take with you a sense of clarity and peace throughout the rest of your day.

You are also welcome to join us for one of the many meditation classes we offer at Avalokiteshvara KBC.

Everyone welcome.

What to Expect in a Lunchtime Meditation Class

Our meditation classes are for anyone interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of background or beliefs. Classes are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings, and practice.
Every class includes a chance to practise meditation. No prior experience, special equipment or special clothes are necessary for our classes – just come as you are. No meditation experience is required. You do not need to bring anything. We have chairs and cushions for you to sit on.

Classes are all standalone individual classes that are presented in a series. You do not need to attend the full series to attend a class.

What to expect in a course

When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and our mind becomes still, a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within. This feeling of contentment and well-being helps us to cope with the busyness and difficulties of daily life.
