Support AKBC Through our Fundraisers
Avalokiteshvara Kadampa Buddhist Centre is a registered Canadian charity run by volunteers. Through your donations, many people in Guelph and Southwestern Ontario, Buddhist and non-Buddhist, have learnt to solve their problems through the practice of meditation and by bringing their meditation practice into their daily life.
We are located in downtown Guelph. From our main centre in Guelph we offer classes and courses on Buddhism and meditation to all walks of life so that everyone can find inner peace and happiness through applying Buddhist wisdom to solve their daily problems.
From September 2022, we concluded our livestream classes and have re-started our branch locations in Kitchener and Georgetown. We hope to establish more classes throughout Southwestern Ontario so more people can meet Kadam Dharma in their neighbourhood and learn the methods to develop mental peace.

Our Annual Fundraisers
End-of-Year Fundraiser
Once a year, usually in the fall, we put together a fundraiser that is targeted to raise money for a specific need. Due to covid-19 and the financial impact it has had on the centre, our targeted fundraiser this year will go towards maintaining our Centre and programs.
If you would like to contribute to our classes and programs, please consider making a secure monthly or one-time donation at Canada Helps.
Spring Fundraiser
This winter (2023) we will hold a fundraising dinner and silent auction in a local Guelph restaurant instead of a picnic. This will be a wonderful chance for people to come together, enjoy a delicious meal and donate to AKBC while bidding for silent auction items.

Help Us Purchase a Car
We lost are car at the beginning of the pandemic. The upside of this is for the past two years the Centre has not needed a car while we our classes were online or at the main Centre in Guelph.
However, now that restrictions have been lifted, we have begun to offer classes in other towns and cities rather than online classes. We get many requests a week for local classes but it is difficult to reach areas without a car.
The prices of good used cars are higher than ever, but we can’t wait much longer. The amount we will need for a car is $15,000 – to cover the cost of the car, CAA and insurance for a year.
To raise this money, we need the help of our community. Please consider donating to our car fund this fall.
