The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will be able to make skillful decisions that lead to happiness. But if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. Through learning to meditate and developing a daily practice we will eventually be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

This half-day workshop includes guided meditations, practical advice on how to begin, develop, and maintain a meditation practice as well as  time to discuss the ideas presented. In this course we will look at the 4 powers 0f: aspiration, self-confidence, joy, and relaxation as presented in Shantideva’s Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life.

No prepayment required.  Please pay when you arrive for the course.
