Due to the current worldwide outbreak we have closed the Centre to flatten the curve through social distancing. During this time, we are helping our community stay peaceful and anxiety-free by live-streaming our meditation classes directly to you. We are live-streaming our classes from our Centre in Guelph to towns and cities in Southwestern Ontario outside of the Golden Horseshoe. Join us for our online classes from the comfort of your home and learn meditation methods designed to help us transform all our difficulties into spiritual growth.

On-Line Meditation Classes

Wednesdays 7 – 8:30pm
Sundays 2:30 – 4pm
with Resident Teacher, Kelsang Kunden

These classes provide a basic introduction to Buddhist teachings and meditations. Through these we can learn how to use Buddha’s advice as a solution to our daily problems and in this way come to experience a sense of peace and happiness in our lives. Classes run in a 3 – 4 week series but each class is standalone – so you can join at any time. Everyone is welcome!

This topic has two live-streams with the first on Sunday followed by the Wednesday class, although no two classes are exactly alike so feel free to come to both!

Controlling Our Wild Elephant Mind

Our mind is like a wild elephant – when powerful feelings or thoughts arise we have no choice but to follow them. Now in these troubled times, worry, fear and stress are increasing rather than decreasing. Learn techniques to control this wild elephant mind and overcome delusions. We can learn to control all the adverse situations we find ourself in, into a meaningful practice that will increase our compassion and wisdom.
This class is based on Training the Mind in Seven Points by twelfth century bodhisattva, Geshe Chekhawa. Precious advice on how to overcome delusions by practicing brief but profound essential points.
We offer this class by livestream two times each week to make it easier for people to attend:
Sundays 2:30 – 4pm (first class of the week)
Wednesdays 7 – 8:30pm (second class of the week)

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A CLASS

Our meditation classes are for everyone who is interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of background or beliefs. They are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings, and practice.
Every class includes a chance to practise meditation. No prior experience, special equipment or special clothes are necessary – just come as you are.

  • Guided Breathing Meditation Every class begins with a fifteen -minute guided breathing meditation.
  • Teaching The meditation is followed with a talk from Buddha’s teachings, these practical talks help us to solve our daily problems and find peace, happiness and, if we wish, a deeper purpose in our busy lives.

  • Second Guided Meditation The teaching is followed with a guided meditation based on that teaching for time to develop wisdom through deeper contemplation and meditation.

  • Question and Answer There is an opportunity to discuss the talk and meditation with others, and to ask questions. Don’t worry – there’s no expectation to talk if you don’t want to!

  • Advice on Daily Practice The class finishes with practical advice on how we can put the teaching into practice in our daily life through the practice of mindfulness.
