What to Expect in a Meditation for World Peace Class

Our meditation classes are for everyone who is interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of background or beliefs. Classes are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings, and practice. This is a short class, with time for prayers and silent contemplation so that we can increase our own inner peace and compassion.

No prior experience, special equipment or special clothes are necessary for our onsite classes – just come as you are. Masks are optional.

This is a free class for everyone. Everyone welcome.

What to expect in a course

World Peace is very important; we cannot ignore this. Once something happens, it will be too late. As you know, this world is now very delicate; it is almost as delicate as the life of a single person. The world situation is so fragile because there are so many disagreements. Political leaders are ready to fight; every country is gathering weapons and preparing to fight, and are challenging each other. So, we spiritual practitioners need to offer prayers.

Prayers are very powerful because of the purity of our motivation, the power of the words of the prayers themselves, and especially because at such times enlightened beings will bestow their blessing upon us, our environment and other living beings. So, we should pray for world peace.

~ Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
